Prices for 3D cast pins

The price of 3D cast pins depends on, among other things, the design, size, thickness, metal colour, attachment, and quantity. Because every pin is truly custom-made, we do not work with a fixed price list here.

Features of 3D cast pins

Unlike 2D stamped pins, 3D cast pins not only have raised and recessed parts but also real depth, curves, and flowing shapes. This gives them a lively, almost sculptural appearance.

3D cast pins are ideal for:

• portraits, masks, or figures
• buildings, monuments, and logos with a lot of detail
• badges, awards, and anniversary pins
• premium merch for bands, associations, or brands

How are 3D cast pins made?

For 3D cast pins, we use a different production method than for 2D stamped pins, printed pins, or enamel pins. Instead of stamping or punching the metal, we work with a liquid metal alloy:

• we first make a 3D model and a mold based on your design
• liquid metal is poured into the mold
• after cooling, the pin is deburred and finished
• finally, the metal is polished and provided with the desired finish

You can choose fully 3D executed pins, but also a combination of 3D shapes with soft enamel areas for extra colour accents.

Dimensions of 3D cast pins

Because the pins are cast and not punched, almost all shapes and contours are possible. In practice, most 3D cast pins are between approx. 2x2 cm and 4x4 cm, with a thickness of about 1.5–3.5 mm.

Note: the larger and thicker the pin, the more material and work is required – this affects the price. Are you unsure about the ideal size for a lapel, collar, cap, or bag? We are happy to think along with you.

Colours and enamel

Standard 3D cast pins are executed entirely in metal, without colour. If you still want to add colour areas, we can combine 3D pins with soft enamel. We then fill certain parts of the pin with enamel paint, so that you get, for example, logo parts or accents in colour.

When colouring, we use Pantone PMS colours as a reference. View the PMS colour chart. Important: PMS serves as a reference; the final paint may differ slightly from the colour on your screen due to material and shine.

Metal colours of 3D pins

3D cast pins are available in various metal colours, such as:

• gold
• silver
• bronze
• black metal
• copper
• rose gold (optional)
• oil-black (optional)

You can choose from shiny, matte, or antique finishes. This allows you to vary the look from sleek and modern to classic and vintage. You can find an overview of the possibilities on our page with metal finishes.

Attachments for 3D cast pins

Standard 3D cast pins are attached with 1 or 2 butterfly clutches (depending on the size). If you want a different attachment, the following options are available for an additional cost:

• Butterfly clutch (standard, no surcharge)
• Horizontal needle with eye closure
• Brooch closure
• Screw closure
• Magnetic closure
• Plastic cap
• Safety pin
• Vertical needle

Engravings on 3D cast pins

Do you want to make the pins even more personal? 3D cast pins can be provided with a laser engraving on request, for example on the back. Think of:

• years or anniversary numbers
• unique numbering for limited editions
• names, positions, or short texts
• an extra logo or event name

Packaging of 3D pins

Pins at Pro-Merchandise are standardly packaged individually so that they arrive at your place without scratches. Then we package them in bulk in boxes. Do you want to receive the 3D pins retail-ready or gift-ready? Then we can, for example:

• put them on cards and package them in polybags
• deliver them in plastic or satin storage boxes

Can I use my own design or logo?

Yes, you can always supply your own logo or design. Preferably in a vector file (AI, EPS, PDF), but we can also work from a good image or sketch. If you do not have a final design yet, we will help you free of charge with a suitable digital proof.
